The meaning of wearing Promise Rings For Couples

Once you've decided on the finger you want to wear your rings, you will need to be aware of the size of your rings. This size can be determined by using a ring sizing tool. You can also visit your jeweler with a ring that fits you perfectly to determine the size of your ring and thus make a bespoke ring.

When you wear your ring each day, it is natural to choose the hand that feels comfortable for you. Certain rings that represent events usually match the hand that is appropriate to your culture or the country you reside in. For instance, in most Western (Christian) countries, it is customary to wear your engagement ring on the left hand and then move it to the right before the wedding.

The wedding ring is then worn on the left. Many married women wear both the wedding ring and the engagement ring to the left.

If you'd like to wear a different ring along with your wedding ring and your engagement ring, it is possible to wear it on the same hand or on the other. For example, an eternity ring is worn on the same hand.

If the Chinese partner wears the wedding ring on the left, it means that he/she is expecting to receive more than what he/she gives to the wedding.

The two rings can be worn together with the rings of the partner who passed away to be worn behind the widow. The jeweler can also rework the two rings to make the widow's ring.

Frequently asked questions

The engagement ring: which hand to wear it on?

In most Western cultures people wear both the engagement ring as well as the wedding ring on their left ring finger. As a Christian you can wear the engagement ring on your left hand, and the wedding ring on your right hand. In countries that have Islamic tradition the hand where rings are worn differs from country to country. In Jordan, Muslims wear their wedding ring on their right hand. In Iran they prefer wearing rings on their left hand.

How to wear an engagement ring & wedding ring

In the majority of Western societies, the engagement ring is usually worn on the finger that is worn by the left hand. In the beginning, it was believed that the "vein" of love linked this finger to the heart. In certain countries, during marriage, the engagement ring is shifted to the middle finger of the left hand to make room for a wedding ring. In our country, the majority of people wear both rings on their left hand. However some prefer wearing their wedding rings on their right hand's finger with the ring.

What is the ring size I should get? What size of ring is suitable for me?

There are many ways to determine your ring's size. For instance, you can measure the size of the size of a ring you already have. Or you can measure the circumference with strings that are wrapped around your finger. Take the measurement preferably in the evening, but not after eating a salty meal or hot drinks. Likewise, strenuous exercise can cause your fingers to grow, as can pregnancy in women.
